Pedigree Matrix

Post by diegomedeiros » 07 Jun 2016 01:44

Hello,

I would like to know why openLCA has erased the indicators names from the pedigree matrix?

Is that possible to change the uncertainty factors from each pedigree score? This action would be a plus as in the future there will be sector pedigree matrix such as the one Andreas proposed for transportation (Ciroth et al 2013, DOI 10.1007/s11367-013-0670-5).

Regards,
D.

Dear Diego,

Many thanks ->

Well we haven't (see screenshot below from openLCA 1.5) - or maybe this was not your question?

I am of course happy that you bring this up (and would only say: these uncertainty factors are not only valid for transport but could be applied also for other sectors as long as no other factors with empirical basis are available). We are indeed currently working on this, in a project, and it should be available in autumn.

Best wishes,
Andreas

Thanks for your reply Andreas. I see now openLCA version 1.6 brings the function to edit the pedigree matrix. This is awesome!

I have another question regarding uncertainty factors of ecoinvent, but I think you could help me. If we pick a process and, in the exchange table (Input/Output), check the gsigma of 'Data quality entry' column it is not the same as the one used by the 'Uncertainty' column. Even if we use the default basic uncertainty factor of 1.05 for intermediate flows the gsigma of 'Data quality entry' does not match the ones used by 'Uncertainty'.
