Modelling a container house (reuse)

Post by xlcav » 26 May 2016 17:49

Hi,

I am currently trying to model a building, more precisely a house made with shipping container. The idea is to reused shipping container after they traveled around the world, as a structure for houses.

My question is, how to model these used shipping containers, I think the cut off method would be the best way, but I am not sure.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Hi, I did not fully understand your question, what do you mean by cut-off here? The ecoinvent system model?

Hi,

What I mean by a cut off method here is to consider that all the impacts of the first product (here, the shipping container) are allocated to the first user of the material. So the material is burden-free, so the seconderay product (here, the container house) only take as impacts, the recycling processes.

Which is the ecoinvent system, if I am not mistaken.

Sorry Aciroth to respond so late, I couldn't access internet these last few days...
