Hi,
In OpenLCA 1.4.1, the information field for each process includes a tick-box indicating whether it's an infrastructure process or not. Has anyone worked out how to use that as a filter in the product-system level calculation to generate LCIA results with and without infrastructure included and thus understand the contribution from infrastructure to the overall results?
Infrastructure processes
Re: Infrastructure processes
Hi Chris,
this field is used for storing the respective ecoinvent information, it can so far not be applied for the product system modeling / calculation, since the nexus packages for other databases do not contain information for this field. It could be added of course, let us know if this is interesting.
Thanks!
Andreas

Re: Infrastructure processes
Hi Andreas,
I think it would be a useful addition. After all, we have various PCRs and so forth that stipulate whether infrastructure should or should not be included, so ways of distinguishing infrastructure processes, filtering them in a database and/or cutting them off from calculations are really useful (even if it barely makes a difference to the LCIA results for many products whether we keep them in the calculation or not). I guess the user would have to work through a non-ecoinvent database and make sure any infrastructure processes were suitably identified if he/she wanted to use the facility there.
Best wishes,
Chris
