Beer Tutorial - Important explanations on flow management

Hello,
Some general questions to the tutorial - beer bottle - Alu vs. Can:
Alu can: We have to change the reference flow and the ALU can 500 ml to 0.5, both, why do we not need to do this for the PET bottle?
And the waste = 0 because of the fact that we assume, that all of the Aluminium waste is recycled and used again?? Is this true?
