failed to get database descriptors (MacOS)

Hello,
I installed OpenLCA for MacOSX (v. 1.3.0) and as a MySQL server I'm using MAMP (tried to install MySQL but doesn't work).
I have create a new MySQL connection but when i try to connect it I got this error message: "failed to get database descriptors".
No firewall is active.

Settings of the new connection:
Host: localhost
Port: 3306
User: root
Password:
embedded unchecked

Someone can help me?

p.s.: the new version 1.4 that we are currently testing will contain an easier way to install the database

i tried to install mySQL but it still doesn't work.
i solved the problem with MAMP just by resetting the password!
