ReCiPe - Wrong impact factors - different version!

Post by Nachhaltigkeit » 04 Aug 2016 11:26

Dear OpenLCA-Team,

I think there are many many wrong impact factors in your ReCiPe impact assessment methods.
E.g. I downloaded the most recent ReCiPe midpoints here:
http://www.lcia-recipe.net/file-cabinet ... ects=0&d=1

and compared them with the factors in OpenLCA. I found many wrong numbers. For example:

Freshwater ecotoxicity, Midpoint H (European)
Endosulfan | soil (unspecified)
ReCiPe csv: 747 kg
OpenLCA: 0.747 kg

Bernhard,

honestly, this is a different version of Recipe.

In 1.11 which we currently have in our method pack, the values are as we have them:
2016-08-05 09_58_52-ReCiPe111.xlsx [Schreibgeschützt] - Excel.png
2016-08-05 09_58_52-ReCiPe111.xlsx [Schreibgeschützt] - Excel.png (16.4 KiB) Viewed 6633 times
We are currently working on a new method pack.
Btw., currently, we typically need to hunt after method developers to get information about updates and there is no coordination so far that method developers provide their methods in an agreed format, the ILCD pack from JRC aside, which is certainly not ideal. It helps on the other side to sell certain commercial LCA software packs which in turn (maybe) cross-finance model updates.

Best wishes,
Andreas

Dear Andreas,

thank you very much for your reply. I think I found the (my) mistake. I think LibreOffice creates wrong numbers while importing csv files with a "." as a decimal separator!

This can happen, don't worry. But thanks for clarifying!
