Hello!

Is it possible to merge different impact assessment methods into one method set in OpenLCA 1.4.1 beta6?
I want to include the IPCC 2013 method into my own LCIA set.

Hi, yes that is possible:
- export the LCIA method as ILCD - and then import it again as ILCD Hth,

I think I didn't make my intentions clear enough ;)

I have created a new impact assessment methods set. It includes many LCIA methods (mostly MIPS-related) - and also a climate change assessment method (IPCC 2007).

I want to keep my set of methods but want to update the climate change method IPCC 2007 in this set with IPCC 2013. Is that possible?

Well but you can of course also import the LCIA method into a database that contains already other LCIA methods? Did you try this? If the method does not exist in the database it will be added.

It's about time. If I do not update my LCIA set with IPCC 2013, I would have to calculate a product system two times. First with my LCIA set and then with the IPCC 2013 method. That would be very time-consuming. To optimise that I would like to integrate this method in my already existing LCIA set

As said in my previous post, you can simply combine LCIA methods, without need to calculate product systems twice. Thank you.

sorry, I used the wrong words. My bad! "It's about time" should have just described that it's "time consuming" to do a calculation of a product system twice.

I still don't think you understand what I'm trying to ask. I think it's my bad english, sorry ;)
I have created my own LCIA method set. I have included the method "Climate change" which is essentially IPCC 2007. I typed every impact factor myself before because I didn't know how it is possible to copy a impact category in a LCIA method set.

Now I want to update "Climate change" in my LCIA method set with the impact factors presented in IPCC 2013

ah - updating a method is not possible, but if you delete the old and import the new, it should work. You can also contact me directly if you think I keep misunderstanding your English.

I wanted to somehow the impact category of a LCIA method into another LCIA method and afterwards delete the old impact category. So I wanted to copy "GWP100a corrected" of "IPCC 2013" into my LCIA method "SERI Indikatorenset" and then delete my "Climate Change" impact category, which is based on IPCC 2013.

Too bad that that's not possible. I'll have to do it manually. Maybe it will be a feature sometime in the future to copy impact categories from one method into another?
