Importing Ökobau.dat

Hi,

I am new to openLCA and I've been trying to import the Ökobau.dat database with no success. I read in the website that a special version of it specially made for OpenLCA exists but couldn't find it. Can anyone help me with the archive and the procedure?

Thanks a lot

Juan Duarte

Hello Juan,
indeed, we have now a version available that works in openLCA. We are currently finalising a short introductory text and case study about how to use the ökobaudat in openLCA. The database as such is already finished though, so if you need it urgently, it is already available. It is not for free, though - price is 350 € for businesses. Please contact me if you are interested.
Best wishes,
Andreas

Hello Andreas,
I have the same problem like Juan. I downloaded the database vom http://www.nachhaltigesbauen.de/baustof ... audat.html and tried to import it (ILCD). It seemed to work, but making a product system out of a process, everything is 0.00. Is there a reason for this problem?
And i don't understand, that Ökobaudat is not for free? As far as I know, it's for free - isn't it?
Thank you very much for you replay, best regards!

Hello Kurt,
indeed - the official Ökobaudat database is technically incorrect, some of the XML files are missing, and openLCA checks that during the import and therefore the import throws error and is not correct. We communicated this to the BBSR people, some weeks ago, but it was the same case in the previous release of the Ökobaudat.
In the nexus system, we have created a corrected version of the Ökobaudat (please check here https://nexus.openlca.org and directly here https://nexus.openlca.org/brand/201. This import works. If you have further comments or questions, please let me know!
Best wishes,
Andreas

Hello Andreas,
thank you for your prompt reply. We are a University of Applied Sciences (http://www.technikum-wien.at/studium/ma ... giesysteme) and would like to offer the Ökobaudat Database to our students. Is there a way without paying for the database?
Thank your very much! kurt

There is an academic pricing option, for 150€, I hope you agree this is reasonable.
