Plus signs on graphs and creation of product systems

Post by edsacayon » 14 Apr 2016 01:34

Hi

I would like to understand why when you create a product system using Ecoinvent datasets, there are some additional processess (some times markets) on the output side of the graph even though these are not shown in the output table of the process. Do these have any effects on impact assessment?

If these, are automatically added should I be building product systems manually instead of letting the software add unwanted information?

Thankks

Hi Edgar,
openLCA does not create connections "out of the blue" therefore you will have a product in your process where the supply chain is added? You can specify the provider for products in processes, for databases where you have several processes providing the same product. Typically it makes sense to build a core system manually or edit the processes, specifying the providers, and create the rest of the supply chain automatically.
Best
