Application of Normalization set

Hello everybody,

I want normalize the ReCiPe-Midoint and Endoint Results of my Studie to get the Unit points instead of kg-X-eq. or species.yr / DALY.
Do I have to multiply or divide the Normalisation-Faktors?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards.

The LCIA result per category is divided by the normalisation value in openLCA - but you can take the nomalisation set from the openLCA method pack? As e.g. shown in the screenshot for ReCiPe, thus you do not need to enter or calculate it yourself? Just specify the normalisation set to be used when performing a calculation?

Thanks, that was helpful.
It's easy to find in the calculation properties.

in my case to run the calculation I don't find any set of normalization in the impact assessment method ( see picture attached)

how can i overcome this?

thank you

Hello hajar,
you need to import the zolca files; EcoSpold1 does not support normalisation values.

HELLO,

thank you for your answer

the file imported for LCIA method is a zolca file not ecoSpold1

so what can be the problem?
is it because I'm working with an academic licence?
I have another question sin I'm working whit ecoinvent database witch one is suitable for my case?
I want to calculate the EI of transportation

thank you

Well, if you import the 1.5.5 method pack from the download page at openlca.org (direct link: http://www.openlca.org/documents/14826/ ... 54d0e814db), import this as database into an existing or into a new database in openLCA, then you have the normalisation values for those methods where these are available. See the pictures below. This is completely independent from any other database licence that you have, academic or professional.

Andreas

Hello again,

I downloaded the OpenLCA LCIA method pack as you recommended but when i run the calculation with Recipe Midpoint H with the normalization set world Recipe H/H [year] i get this

is it maybe I didn't model in a good way my goal is : compare the impact of two transportation modes : truck and train per km ( see picture 2)
1- I created a flow called 'transportation'
2-I created a process called 'transportation mode 1' and another process 'transportation mode 2'
3 - for each process I created a product system and then I run the calculation

my questions are:
- how can I add the diesel consumption for mode 1 and diesel and electricity for mode 2? because I did and for the category fossil depletion I get 0
- why do I get the zeros in every category

thanks
hajar

Hello hajar,
can you please post a picture of your product system (model graph)? You did not include a picture there, maybe the system is not containing any supply chain? This would explain the "0" values. Maybe it is an idea to check the youtube video on how to create product systems, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEosW6PceVg.
