Re: APOS vs Cut-Off Datasets
Hi, I'll try: - cut-off is probably not too difficult to understand, any recyclates used in a system come without any burden from their previous life. - APOS needs some more thoughts, it introduces the burden from the previous life at the point where the recyclate is used This change can of course i...

Re: System vs. Unit under Provider
A system process is fully aggregated, a unit process is not, but can deliver the same product if the system process is the aggregated version of a specific unit process. I hope it's clear now?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: Cumulative energy demand - flows are not specified (bug in openLCA 1.6.1, fixed)
Hi Sofia,
I edited your post title - this was a bug in openLCA 1.6.1 and is fixed in 1.6.3 and 1.7 (for any method but also for CED); the recommendation would thus be to update openLCA.
Best wishes,
Andreas

Re: Problems with openLCA in Mac
Hi Guilherme,
welcome - this is a know issue with Macs, openLCA currently expects Java (for Mac: JDK) 8. We are looking into this and will address this in 1.7 (non-beta); meanwhile, please install and use Java JDK 8 for Mac OS. Thank you for your understanding,
Andreas

Re: Which modelling method for my LCA study
Hi again, you are of course right - if you are aware of a method that reflects North Africa specifically, we'd be happy to implement it..

Re: Additive Manufacturing - 3d printing LCA
Hi Demetris,
well you should include the supply chains for aluminium and electricity and so forth, but it could well be that the manufacturing process itself has no emissions (maybe gaseuos evaporations?), and waste.
Best wishes,
Andreas

Re: Which modelling method for my LCA study
Hi, this is a topic often discussed, and the decision for one or the other method should be documented and explained in goal and scope of a study. Commonly used are CML (e.g. often in construction, Germany), ReCiPe (ecoinvent context) and ILCD (European projects)). Also more detailed approaches such...

Hi Demetris,
interesting question but what are you specifically looking for - LCA is quite a generic approach for any product and production process?
Thanks, Andreas

Re: openLCA 1.6 installation
Hi Victoire, well my hack with deletion of the update logs works when beta versions perform an update to a version step which is canged for the final release (e.g.: log says: updated to 1.6, but it is 1.6 beta, and different from final 1.6 - when this entry is removed, openLCA updates again to the f...
