Modelling Transport
Hi all, When modelling transport (kg x km), I'm wondering how to to differentiate between the number of trucks required to move a particular weight. For example, modelling the transport of 1 tonne of PET granules may require 1 truck, whereas the transport of that same 1 tonne of PET bottles (much la...

Re: negative results
I was also curious about negative impact contributions. I have attached a screenshot of 'Land Use' Top 5 Contributions in hopes to clarify my thinking: Both the market for waste paper and the treatment of waste PET are negative contributors in this case. Does this mean that waste paper market (as so...

Re: Process Missing/Not contributing as it should at Project Level
Thanks for your response Andreas! The input and outputs are product flows, yes; however, when you specify the Provider, that provider contains elemental flows (right?). So do you mean that if I do not have elemental flows in my input/outputs of a specific process that at the Project Report level it ...

Process Missing/Not contributing as it should at Project Level
Hi Andreas, I have a product system consisting of 7 processes: 500mL PET Bottle + PP Pump Bottle FIll Bottle Storage Ship to European Market Ship to Retail Product Use EOL - Landfill The 500mL PET Bottle + PP Pump process has 9 input flows and 2 output flows. The reference flow is a single unit titl...

Re: NREL LCI & OpenLCA v1.6.3 - IA results not reported
Hi Rebecca, I'm experiencing a similar issue where my model graph shows all upstream processes and inputs, but these do not show up in my Project comparisons and I believe they should contribute majorly to the impacts! Could you please elaborate on the conversion factor mistake that you found?? Than...

APOS vs Cut-Off Datasets
Hi, I am seeking to clarify the difference between APOS and Cut-Off datasets. I have read through the EcoInvent online material but am finding the jargon used in the explanations tough to understand. I have created a project comparing Waste PET parameter across APOS (U) and Cut-Off (U) product syste...

System vs. Unit under Provider
Hi all,
I do not fully understand the system (S) or unit (U) options under the Provider tab in Processes. If anyone has advice or a simple explanation I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you!
